As we begin this Advent season, please consider how to prepare for Christmas. Dynamic Catholic is offering a free Advent program, Let Your Soul Shine. Sign up on their website (click on the announcement title for the link) to receive a short video each day from Matthew Kelly and his team. May we all have a joyous Advent this year!
Especially during the Christmas season, we are reminded of our blessings and the hardships others may be facing. This year monetary donations will be collected to buy gift cards for selected parishioners to purchase food or gifts. Please click the title of this announcement for additional information on this year's donations and recipients.
While the turkey is roasting and Jello salad setting, join us for Thanksgiving Mass! (8:00 AM St. Mary's & 9:30 AM SS Peter & Paul) SSPP will also offer Mass the following morning at 9:00 AM instead of the usual 7:00 AM. May we all have a blessed day this Thanksgiving, as we bring to mind those things for which we are truly grateful.
This year we are partnering with St. Paul's Lutheran Church to collect outdoor winter apparel items. Please bring clean, new or gently used winter coats, hats, earmuffs, mittens, scarves, and/or boots to the SSPP Church drop off. If you are unable leave your items in the back of the church, DeeAnn Schreiner has generously offered to pick up donations. She can be reached by calling (712) 254-1459. Donations will be accepted now through November 22nd. Help us support those in our community who may not be able to prepare for the cold, upcoming season!
